Jalan Padang Linjong, Canggu: the 2026 street guide
Padang Linjong is the quiet street between Canggu and Pererenan that suddenly has everything: a new high-end gym, two padel clubs, great coffee and rice fields at the end of the road. Here is what is on it, what is new in 2026, and what it is like to live here.

Where is Padang Linjong?
Jalan Canggu Padang Linjong (often just "Padang Linjong", sometimes misspelled "Padang Lingjong") runs for roughly 1.5 km through the middle of Canggu. At its north-east end it meets Jalan Raya Canggu, where the street is still lined with rice fields. At its south-west end it joins Jalan Pantai Batu Mejan, the road down to Echo Beach.
That position is the whole point. Padang Linjong sits between Batu Bolong to the south and Pererenan to the north, so both are a short scooter ride away, while the street itself stays calmer than the main Canggu strips.
| From Padang Linjong to | By scooter | By car |
|---|---|---|
| Echo Beach (Batu Mejan) | 3–5 min | 5–10 min |
| Batu Bolong and Old Man's | 5–10 min | 10–15 min |
| Pererenan | 5–10 min | 10–15 min |
| Berawa | 10–15 min | 15–30 min |
| Seminyak | — | 25–30 min |
| Ngurah Rai Airport | — | 45–60 min |
Times are typical daytime estimates. Canggu traffic changes a lot by hour, so allow more around sunset.
What is new on Padang Linjong in 2026
The north-east end of the street, around number 8, has turned into Canggu's newest fitness and padel cluster in less than a year.
Reload Sanctuary (opened February 2026)
Reload Sanctuary opened on 20 February 2026 at Jalan Canggu Padang Linjong No. 8. It is the Bali outpost of Reload, a high-performance training centre that started in Jakarta, and the building was designed by Indonesian architect Andra Matin.
Inside there is a strength floor, a HYROX zone, a class studio and a rooftop training area with a running track looking over the rice fields. The recovery side has a sauna, steam room, ice bath, cold plunge, recovery pool and a 39°C jacuzzi, plus Reload Kitchen. It is open every day from 06:00 to 22:00. We wrote a full guide to Reload Sanctuary with prices.
The Sphere Airdome Padel Club (opened September 2026)
The Sphere bills itself as Bali's first air-dome padel club: six courts, including an Arena court, all under a climate-controlled dome, so you can play at midday or in the rain. It opened in September 2026 at the Jalan Raya Canggu end of Padang Linjong and is open daily from 08:00 to 22:00. Courts are booked through Playtomic, and you can find it on Google Maps.
TAP Club Canggu (opened spring 2026)
A few doors away, TAP Club has three covered doubles courts and a dedicated singles court, AI ball tracking on every court, a cold plunge and a bar for coffee, coconuts and beer on tap. See our padel guide for how the clubs compare.

Getting around
Most people here get around by scooter. To reach Berawa, many locals use the famous Canggu shortcut, Jalan Anggrek, a narrow rice-paddy lane between Batu Bolong and Berawa. Cars can only use it one way, from Canggu towards Berawa, and it jams at peak times. Grab and Gojek scooter taxis and food delivery cover the whole area.
Longer term, Badung Regency is planning a new Gatsu Barat–Canggu–Mengwi road to ease Canggu traffic, with completion targeted for 2028. It does not run along Padang Linjong.
Why we chose Padang Linjong
We built our two villas here because it is the rare spot in Canggu that is central without being noisy. Pererenan's restaurants and Batu Bolong's beach are both minutes away, but our part of the street is quiet, green and, at the time of writing, free of construction.
If you want to train at Reload in the morning, play padel at lunchtime, surf Echo Beach at sunset and still sleep in a quiet villa, Padang Linjong is the place.
